*A WQ grade is a withdraw failing grade. It counts in both the semester and the cumulative GPA.
Semester Dates Schedules:
The semester link above displays a schedule that outlines the following dates for each type of class in a semester:
- Start (first day of class): Schedule changes made on this day or prior to start of classes will not incur a drop/add fee. From the second day of classes forward, the drop/add fees are charged.
- Last day to register: This date will be the last date for which you can add a class. Classes dropped prior to or on this day will not appear on your grade report or your transcript.
- Last day to drop with a W: Classes dropped after the last day to register through this day will appear on your grade report and your transcript with a "W" (withdrew) as a grade. The W grade does not affect your GPA.
- Last day to drop with a WP/WQ: This will be the last date for which you can drop any class. Classes dropped after the last day to drop with a W period will be assigned a grade of WP (withdrew passing) or WQ (withdrew failing). The WQ grade counts in both the semester and cumulative GPA. You may not officially withdraw past this date.
- Last day of class: This will be the last day that the class meets.
- Finals: See the finals schedule for the date of the final exam.
NOTE: If you plan to drop all of the classes in your schedule, this is an academic withdrawal. Please report to the Registrar's Office to begin the withdrawal process.
