Degree Plan Audit
-
A copy of your degree plan with the appropriate signatures should be on file in the Registrar's Office the semester before you plan to graduate. The degree plan must be signed by:
-
Your major advisor.
-
An advisor in the department of your minor.
-
An advisor in the education department (if you are certifying to teach).
-
-
Any class substitutions must be noted on the degree plan and initialed by the advisor. (The Course Substitution Form must accompany the signed degree plan.)
-
It is your responsibility to request your degree be sent to the Registrar's Office for a graduation audit.
-
You need to come to the Registrar's Office to fill out the "Request for Graduation Audit" and to pay your graduation fees.
Audit Review
-
After your degree plan has been sent to the Registrar's Office, Lillie Lowery, Graduation Coordinator, will audit your degree plan. Sherri Fincher, Records Coordinator, will contact you to come in to review and sign the audit.
-
If you have any questions or do not agree with your graduation audit, please make an appointment with Sherri Fincher (sherri.fincher@umhb.edu or (254) 295-5427) or Lillie Lowery (llowery@umhb.edu or (254) 295-4511).
All graduation requirements must be met, or you will not be allowed to graduate or walk across the stage at the Commencement Ceremony.
Students have failed to graduate because of the following:
-
Correspondence course grades have not been received. Correspondence courses from other schools need to be completed at least one (1) month prior to graduation. Sometimes it takes larger schools several weeks to get the final of a correspondence course graded.
-
Official transcripts must be received before a course can be officially accepted toward graduation. Email/phone grades will allow you to "walk" at graduation; however, your degree will not be posted, nor will you receive your official diploma until the transcript is received.
-
UMHB Cumulative Grade Point average must be 2.0 or higher to graduate. Don't take the semester lightly.
-
Chapel requirements must be met. Refer to the Student Handbook for details.
Contact the Registrar's Office...
- If you have questions.
- If you change your expected graduation date (very important).
